Lectors: Proclaim the Word of God at Mass.
Eucharistic Ministers: Distribute the Eucharist to the faithful at church or in their homes.
Music Ministry: Give glory to God through song as part of the Holy Family Choir (Call Brian at 716-822-5962 Ext. 213) or the contemporary ensembles at St. Martin of Tours or St. Teresa (Call Laura at 716-208-5608).
Relicious Education Teacher or Aide: Help our children learn about and love the Lord while being formed in their faith. Classes are held on Sunday from 9:30 to 10:45 at St. Teresa’s Parish Center. Call Cheryl McNerney at 716-823-8575 for more information.
Altar Servers: Assist the priest at Mass or funerals.
Greeters/Ushers/Hospitality: Be a welcoming presence to all who visit our churches or help with “Donut Sunday”.
“RISE UP” YOUTH MINISTRY: This program seeks to provide Middle School students, grades 6,7 and 8 with an environment to have an encounter with Jesus and form lasting friendships centered on Christ, growing in faith and discipleship. Rise-Up meets on the second Friday of each month from 6:30 to 8:30 PM, alternating among various parish locations. For more information, contact Stacy Marinaro.
Community Dinner: Every Friday, groups of volunteers provide “take out” dinners to those in need in our community from Holy Family Church. Volunteer teams are always needed to prepare and distribute the dinners. Contact Mary Anne King at 716-822-1837 for more information.
Outreach: Our Outreach Pillar helps to organize and support our efforts to support those in our community who need assistance. This includes the Friday Community Dinner at Holy Family, food and clothing collections, Christmas Giving Trees, veteran outreach, and other projects.
Adoration Chapel: Come and pray before Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. Our Adoration Chapel at St. Martin of Tours is open 24/7 for the faithful to adore our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. A special code is needed to enter the chapel.
Scripture Study at St. Teresa: Each week, Deacon Bob Dobmeier holds a Scripture Study class from 9:45 to10:45 AM in the St. Teresa Rectory. All are invited to come and learn about the Word of God.
Men's Bible Study: The Catholic Family of South Buffalo Men’s Group builds up the faith of Catholic Men in four ways: Study, Service, Fellowship, and Worship. We currently have a regular Bible study group meeting the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30-8pm in the office conference room. We seek various opportunities for service and fellowship throughout the year. If interested, contact Deacon Dan.
Bereavement Committee: Members of the Bereavement Committee meet with family members of the deceased to help plan a funeral Mass at one of our churches. They assist in choosing readings, music, and coordinating liturgical plans with the presider.
Bereavement Group: This gathering is open to all who are experiencing grief from the death of a loved one. It provides the opportunity for spiritual and emotional support in a compassionate atmosphere. The group meets on the first Monday of the month at St. Martin of Tours in the sacristy.
Peace Moms Grief Support: PEACE (Persevere & Endure, Assure with Compassion and Sympathy) is a safe, welcoming and confidential support group for mothers who have lost a child to a “stigmatized death” by suicide, substance-related death or homicide. The group meets on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 6 PM in the OLC Meeting Room.
F.R.A.T. (Father’s Rallying Against Tragedy) is a group of fathers who have lost children gathering in solidarity and support. The group meets at St. Martin of Tours on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 7 PM in the Church Meeting Room.
